Life in a Q’eqchi’village is both difficult and beautiful. Poverty and a lack of education make life tough and most villagers barely scratch out a living. At the same time, they are located in a beautiful, peaceful tropical setting. When you speak with villagers you come to find that they are completely aware of this contradiction. The want desperately to lead a better life, but many don’t want to give up their attachment to the places they live.
